Real-time rendering mode
The uniqueness of Virtual Studio comes from its powerful real-time rendering engine. In this mode, users can enjoy the flexibility of operating in real time. This includes using the video mixer and switcher features, controlling the tracking, and operating with a joystick during a live shoot.
Real-time rendering can also be used with pre-rendered sets. For example, if there is a need to modify a small aspect within a pre-rendered set, the user can simply focus on making the modification in real time, leaving all other parts intact. This approach saves the time and effort of having to re-render an entire set in order to apply the modification.
Pre-rendered mode
Higher video quality can be attained from operating the system in pre-rendered mode. Every 3D scene imported from Autodesk 3ds Max can be pre-rendered for the best video quality and used synchronously with or without live chroma key inputs.
Unlike other production systems that require two rendering machines and an external mixer to preserve the high quality of live chroma key input, Darim’s Virtual Studio, with its built-in rendering engine and mixer, ensures the same broadcasting quality at a much lower cost, with less labor time.
Mixed rendering mode
This hybrid mode of operation eliminates the need to re-render all sources when interactive 3D objects are inserted. For example, studio productions for weather and news programs often require the overlay of 3D elements on top of pre-rendered background images. By applying Virtual Studio’s mixed rendering mode, users can preserve the quality of the pre-rendered background while inserting and controling the new objects in real time.
